Thank you for sharing this. I'm also very similar in many ways. I've come to learn that the commentary within the mind is a reflection. Neutral in nature and dictated by beliefs, unprocessed emotions, and experiences.
When a person can become the "witnesser" of their thoughts and be open to letting go what limits them is when the same repetitive thoughts dissipate.
Notice the pattern and ask, "What lesson or principle is the common theme with me perceiving this way?"
The negative aspect of the ego can be identified through fear, lack, and separation. Allow these to be the key indicators that identify negative belief that can be transmuted.
The ego can also be positive. It's literally how we have the ability to experience individuality. That itself represents an expression of God.
Now to create balance and to quiet the mind, we must land in a place of deep trust and nuetrality. It's knowing that everything will be met in perfect ways and it's totally okay to allow the mind to become simplified.
For example, it's realizing, "Ah, I need to go buy some groceries soon. Should I go tomorrow or the next day? Listen to the body.... tomorrow feels best!" Conversation stops there. No debating, no comparing, no mental gymnastics is needed.
Trust that you are creating everything in your life experience and everything serves a purpose. When a person can relax, open up, and just be is when the answer to the lesson become apparent.
The monkey mind is our biggest teacher to becoming more of our True-Self—being gentle with yourself and others will streamline the unraveling and stillness of the mind.
We're all here to realize what we've forgotten, which in a nutshell is that we're already whole. We need nothing outside ourselves to be complete. The emptiness and voids are projections of limiting beliefs.
By knowing the Divinity within ourselves and others is how we heal all things, because paradoxically all things are holy.
All roads leads back to our true essence before life projected its judgments and negativity.
This way is a journey, but it's one worth traveling. Good day, I hope this inspires.
