Now with More Rhyming!

I’ve never been asked to write before so, when Janette Speyer messaged if I wanted to write for her Flipboard Users publication, I jumped at the chance! The problem is, I’m not great writer.
You see, I’m a thinker, over analyzer, and riddled with anxiety and daddy issues.
After nearly an evening's worth of writing, I was halfway through an article I didn’t love and suddenly it came to me!
Whenever I’m at a loss for words, I write poetry. In fact, my most read story on Medium is a poem. So, without further delay, I present a fairy tale love story unlike anything you’ve read before.
The Poem
Once upon a time, there was a girl named Flipboard
Who was locked in a tower so tall.
The tower wasn’t pretty, but she was so witty,
But a lover she had never a call.
There once was a man named Medium
Who lived off in a faraway land.
Lovers all gone he stared towards the dawn
destined to be hand in hand.
“Enough!” thought Flipboard.
“I must escape this tower and find my true love.”
So, digging away, her body did sway
but her mind focused on a heart to belove.

Medium raced from door to door
without a view or a friend to be had.
See, his door had a lock, and his party did flock
to clickbait titles so bad.
Medium was alone and he cried real tears
And wrote letters about pain and loss.
To the wind he did throw his letters a glow
But a fan the letters didn’t cross.
Until one day, Flipboard burst in
She had escaped her tower so tall!
With the gleam in her eyes, she looked at her prize
And swept the good man to a ball.

They danced, sang, and drank away
deep into the moon lit night
Till finally they’d done all that was fun
And kissed by the stars so bright.
The party goers? Oh, they noticed!
And ran to throw pennies they now owe,
More and more came to the see the hearts now aflame.
And skyrocketed the views did grow.
So, you see, dear reader, this story is true!
And not a normal fairy tale.
Together, you’ll find an answer, to your woes as a freelancer,
with Flipboard and Medium a ’sail!
By The Numbers
By adding my articles, as well as my publication’s articles (The Taoist Online), I was able to grow our viewership by 400% in just 48 hours. If you don’t believe me, look at the charts below.
More amazing than the spike is that it wasn’t a fluke, but a constant and steady stream of new readers. Look how minutes read settled around 1.75k minutes when it was only 400 minutes previously. My personal numbers also drastically skyrocketed as a poem went viral yesterday.
Above, you can see traffic sources for my poem. Notice 980 views came from Flipboard which represented 98% of all views.
Still MORE impressive one of my writers Simon Kupfer, constantly outperforms my numbers every time I post his article. Here were my Flipboard notifications this morning after one of his articles gained 2k views OVERNIGHT.

To Conclude
Flipboard may not be magic, and your results will vary depending on your headlines, quality of writing, and topics.
But if you’re not marrying your Medium with Flipboard, you’re missing out on your dream come true.
